Ciara To Play Orange Bowl
Ciara hopes to score a touchdown with fans when she performs at the FedEx Orange Bowl next week.The "Goodies" singer is set to headline the halftime show during the championship game between Penn State Nittany Lions and the Florida State Seminoles.
American Idol winner Ruben Studdard will kick off the game by singing the National Anthem.
The 72nd annual FedEx Orange Bowl airs live on Tuesday, January 3rd, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Check your local listings for more information.
Ciara tries to define her music
Grammy-nominated pop singer Ciara says she cringes every time she's called the princess of crunk & B."It's not true," she told Friday's New York Post. "My first single, 'Goodies,' was crunk & B, but that's the only song on my album that is crunk & B. I think that it's sad that people want to classify me. That's not my whole sound."
Ciara, 20, said her sound is more "R&B pop" than crunk & B, a clubby derivative of Southern rap made popular by Lil' John.
"My music is energy music, not crunk & B," she said. "With a little mix of hip-hop and a little soul."
Whatever it is, people like it. Nominated for four Grammy Awards, Ciara toured with 50 Cent and Gwen Stefani in 2005, sold 3 million albums and scored three No. 1 singles.
